Turning the Spotlight on Financial Education
Gov. Deval Patrick recently proclaimed October to be Financial Education Month, turning the spotlight on an important issue. In this challenging economic environment, now is a good time for families to understand the need for strong money planning.
The Massachusetts Financial Education Collaborative has created a network of educators, financial industry representatives, regulators, and advocates to provide information on managing finances and avoiding dangers in financial markets. This effort will improve strategies to teach finances, and help reduce the feeling that dealing with finances is a painful subject.
You can find our consumer tips on financial matters here, and can find other financial information by going through our Consumer Advisories. Also, read about our college-based Project Credit Smarts, and find information about Financial Education Month events, including the Financial Education Summit on Oct. 28, here.
