Foreclosure Prevention and First-time Home Counseling Services 

The Patrick Administration awarded grants to fund 11 foreclosure education centers that will cover regional areas across the Commonwealth and target communities hardest hit by the foreclosure crisis. The centers provide outreach and assistance to homeowners in or approaching foreclosure as well as to those borrowers who have already lost their homes. In addition, many of these housing counseling agencies provide first-time homebuyer education and counseling. In 2009, grant awards totaled $1 million.
