A “record” can be a court judgment, order, decree, or letter of appointment.  

Examples of “records” are:

• Certificate of Divorce Absolute
• Letters of Authority or Appointment; Personal Representatives/Guardians
• Docket Page
• Attested Copies of documents in a court file
• Unattested Copies of documents in a court file

To receive a certified copy of your Court Record you will need your docket number.

For Estate Cases Only: If you do not know what your docket number is, you can search the Court Dockets for public case information. Otherwise, please call the Court to obtain your case docket number.

If you are requesting a copy of a court record listed below, complete the Request for Copies of Court Records form pdf format of Get a Copy of Your Probate and Family Court Record Form
and mail the form and payment to the Courthouse you are requesting a copy of the Court Record from.

If the record you want is not listed below, or if a document is impounded (not available for public inspection) please check with the Court where the record/case file is located for information on obtaining copies.

Payments must be made by Attorney's Check, Money Order, Bank Certified Check or Bank Cashier's Check. All payments should be made out to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
