Who we serve

MCBDRP collects information on all newly diagnosed cases of birth defects to Massachusetts residents. Surveillance of birth defects is a public health strategy to reduce the number and impact of birth defects. The MCBDRP detects the prevalence of birth defects, tracks trends, investigates potential causes, plans appropriate interventions, and ensures services and appropriate care for children with special health needs.
