TOURS/FUTURE SITE VISITS

Patty Murphy and Daisy Hernandez updated the group that they are working on site visit questions for future tours and interviews with incarcerated women.

Senator Miranda remarked that she is very committed to this Panel, and she is hoping to be a big help given her involvement in the budget process and policy advocacy. Sarah Ruiz commented that the courts and the DA's are not represented on the Panel, which would be needed to focus more on prevention. Daisy Hernandez suggested a working group to strategize regionally. She noted that questions can be asked in discussion forum, and others in questionnaires. It can help spread a wide net and even capture those who did not participate in the forum discussion.

MEMBER COMMENT

Dr. Connolly suggested holding one-hour meetings in the future and focusing the agenda to accomplish as much as possible within that time frame. Chairwoman Pelletier responded that the Panel would continue to keep 1.5-hour meetings for the foreseeable future and attempt to get down to 1 hour sometime in the fall or when site visits conclude.
