Overview

The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS), a Secretariat that sits within the Executive Branch of state government, has a Human Resources department that recruits talent for positions across state government.

Other Executive Branch Secretariats work with EOTSS HR to develop and manage their IT staffing and strategy programs. As part of the budgetary and strategic planning processes, these agencies and their respective Chief Information Officers (CIOs) define strategic objectives and look for the best way to either utilize existing resources or expand to respond to changing needs and projects.

Recruitment process

When an individual leaves an agency or organization, their role and functions are reviewed to determine if the position suits current strategic objectives or if a different role is needed.

If the role they’re leaving is deemed essential, EOTSS HR works to identify qualified candidates and then schedules a series of video interviews with agency leadership.

These interviews typically take place over several weeks and are conducted on Microsoft Teams

When a new role is identified, EOTSS HR works with the respective IT leadership team to clearly define the role and responsibilities and develop a recruitment strategy aimed at identifying candidates before the interview process begins.

The team also works to ensure candidates work with one recruiter throughout the process.
