Attorney Visits
Attorneys will be permitted to visit inmates upon one hour notice between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 8:30 P.M. Attorneys should call the MTC at (508) 279-8100 to schedule visits.
- All attorneys are subject to the same screening process as facility staff.
- Hand sanitizer will be made available in the MTC’s lobby.
Video Conference Procedures for Attorneys
Scheduling and Procedures
- Attorney Video Visits will be offered via “Zoom”.
- Attorney Video Visits will normally be made available between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., subject to the operational needs of the institution.
- At least one business day in advance of the requested Attorney Video Visit, the attorney will send an email requesting to schedule an Attorney Video Visit with an inmate to both of the following emails:

MTC-inmatezoom@doc.state.ma.us- It will be the responsibility of the attorney to set up the Attorney Video Visit and to provide the MTC POC with the Zoom Meeting ID Number and Password. The attorney must provide a list of the names and titles (e.g., paralegal, interpreter, private investigator) of all participants. Only attorneys, paralegals, interpreters, and private investigators as defined in 103 CMR 486, Attorney Access at Massachusetts Correctional Institutions, are allowed to participate in an Attorney Video Visit.
- All Attorney Video Visits shall be scheduled in one-hour blocks. Additional Attorney Video Visits may be requested, but will be scheduled based on the operational needs of the institution or requests from other attorneys for such visits.
- Attorney Video Visits may not be recorded by the attorney. Screen shots may not be taken by the attorney.
As used herein, the term “inmate” refers to sexually dangerous persons (SDPs), persons held at the MTC pending the disposition of petitions to commit them as sexually dangerous persons, and prisoners serving criminal sentences.
Video Conference Procedures for Experts
Subject to the operational needs of the MTC, video conference interviews will be made available in two three-hour time slots on business days (Monday-Friday, exclusive of legal holidays).
The interviews will be scheduled in three-hour blocks. The first block will be from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The second block will be from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
To schedule a video conference interview, at least two business days before the requested interview date, the evaluator must send an e-mail to both:

Please include the following information in the e-mail:
- The evaluator’s name and e-mail address
- The inmate’s name
- The requested date and time for the interview
- The name and title of any participant other than the evaluator and the inmate (e.g., interpreter).
The evaluator will receive a return e-mail that will either confirm the interview date and time or notify the evaluator that the slot is not available and invite the evaluator to request another slot. The evaluator will be provided further direction about the information required to set up the videoconference.
The video conference interview may not be recorded by the evaluator. Screen shots may not be taken by the evaluator.

Visits by Outside Mental Health Professionals
Outside mental health professionals will be permitted to visit inmates between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 8:30 P.M. Visits will be by appointment only. Requests for visits must be made at least one business day in advance of the requested appointment. Outside mental health professionals should call the MTC at (508) 279-8150 between 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. to schedule visits.
All outside mental health professionals are subject to the same screening
process as facility staff.Hand sanitizer will be made available in the MTC’s lobby.
