Description
This property lies near the Vermont border on the steep hillsides of Shattuck Brook. It consists of upland forest composed of mature northern hardwoods (maple, birch, and beech) and mixed softwoods (white pine, hemlock). A power line easement runs through a small corner of one of the parcels.
Location, access, & parking
The property can be accessed from Keets Brook Road. No parking areas are present. See WMA map.
Note: WMAs are intentionally wild, visitors will find natural landscapes rather than maintained trails.
Hunting opportunities
This WMA provides hunting opportunities for white-tailed deer, black bear, eastern coyote, and squirrel.
Fishing opportunities
Shattuck Brook provides fishing opportunities for native brook trout and stocked trout species. Go to mass.gov/trout for more information.
