Notification of Your Hearing

If you file an appeal, you will receive a "Notice of Hearing" with information regarding your case.

Why Your Hearing is Important

This is your opportunity to present evidence in support of your claim for UI benefits.

Filing an Application with the Board of Review

A party may appeal a decision issued by the DUA Hearings Department, by filing an application for review with the Board of Review within 30 days of the date of the DUA Hearings Department decision.

Approval of Attorney’s Fees

If you are a claimant, and you hire an attorney or agent to represent you in DUA proceedings, your attorney or agent must obtain DUA’s approval of any proposed fees before billing you for services. (Note: the Board of Review has a separate process for reviewing fees.)

How to submit a request for approval of attorney’s fees

Your attorney or agent should follow these steps to submit fee approval requests to DUA. For more detailed information, see the Frequently Asked Questions.
