NOTICE TO ALL NURSING HOME ADMINISTRATORS

CEU REQUIREMENT WAIVED DUE TO COVID-19

During its June 19, 2020 regularly scheduled meeting, the members of the Board of Registration of Nursing Home Administrators voted to waive the Continuing Education Requirement for its licensees for the 2019-2020 license renewal period. The Board took this action in recognition of the fact that the COVID-19 virus has had a tremendously severe and ongoing impact on nursing home residents and the Nursing Home Administrators who care for them.

The Board’s regulation at 245 Code of Massachusetts Regulations (CMR) 4.02(1) requires the following:

Every Nursing Home Administrator shall complete a minimum of 20 contact hours of continuing education per annual license renewal period.

The Board will not enforce this regulatory requirement for the 2019-2020 license renewal period. Licensees are encouraged to check the Board’s webpage https://www.mass.gov/orgs/board-of-registration-of-nursing-home-administrators regularly for updates.
