Management of medication administration in the school setting
School districts/schools may apply for permission to delegate and/or train on the administration of medications to unlicensed school personnel as determined by the school nurse, provided that certain requirements are met. These requirements include but are not limited to the designation of a Registered Nurse (RN) to be the school entity’s Medication Program Manager, policy development, sufficient school nurses to provide supervision to unlicensed personnel, and RN Medication Program Manager’s completion of state-approved courses.
