Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections which are generally passed from one person to another through sexual contact. STDs are caused by bacteria, parasites, yeast, and viruses. There are more than 20 types of STDs. Some common STDs are chlamydia, genital herpes, and genital warts (HPV).
