If you are an unemployed homeowner or a homeowner who owes more than your home is worth, you may be eligible for assistance under The Making Home Affordable Program. This federal program provides options to lower your monthly mortgage payment or get into a more stable loan at today's low rates. And if owning a home is no longer affordable or desirable, the program can provide a way out which avoids foreclosure.
