About the Tradespersons Contracts
The Tradespersons Statewide Contracts provide public entities a streamlined process for engaging skilled trades workers to support building renovation, repair, and maintenance projects. The contracts offer a wide range of services – from boiler replacements and parking lot resurfacing to elevator repair and cleaning restoration services:
- TRD01: Boilers; Drains; Electrical; Fencing; General Contracting; Generator/Turbine; Glass/Window/Doors; HVAC/Sheet Metal; Painting; Plumbing, Solar Array Inspection
- TRD02: Asphalt Paving; Carpentry; Excavation; Masonry; Septic
- TRD03: Elevator; Exhaust Services; Fire Detection; Fire Suppression; Overhead Doors; Signage; Welding
- TRD04: Cleaning/Restoration; Compressor/Kitchen Exhaust; Pump & Motor; Roofing; and Biohazardous Site Cleaning

Later in 2026, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts intends to post a bid solicitation for a new contract, TRD05, to provide a variety of tradespersons services:
- Boiler Services
- Electrician Services
- Fencing Services
- General Contracting Services
- Generator/Turbine Services
- Glass/Window/Door Services
- HVAC/Sheet Metal Services
- Painting Services
- Plumbing Services
- Solar Services
The TRD05 contract will replace existing Statewide Contract TRD01 and will serve as the primary contract used by Commonwealth Executive Departments and will be available for use by other eligible entities.

Important Changes and Guidance on G.L. c 149 Construction Thresholds
On September 6, 2024, the Attorney General’s Fair Labor Division (AGO) issued a bid protest decision related to public construction contracts, determining that awarding authorities have an obligation to consider all costs, including labor and materials, when estimating the cost of a construction contract for the purposes of soliciting quotes under a Statewide Contract (SWC) managed by the Operational Services Division (OSD). This decision applies to construction projects between $10,000 and $50,000, effective September 6, 2024.
