Workplace Safety and Health Program (WSHP)

Learn how the Workplace Safety and Health Program (WSHP) helps ensure safe, healthy working conditions for public-sector employees across Massachusetts.

About the Workplace Safety and Health Program

The Workplace Safety and Health Program (WSHP) helps keep Massachusetts public workplaces safe and healthy. The program partners with state agencies, municipalities, public schools, and public colleges and universities to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses through inspections, complaint investigations, enforcement of workplace safety and health standards and training, outreach, and technical assistance.

Since 2022, the Department of Labor Standards has enforced occupational safety and health standards in public-sector workplaces under an OSHA-approved State Plan. If you work in the private sector and need to file a workplace safety or health complaint, visit the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) website for information about your rights and how to file a complaint.
