The William A. Hinton State Laboratory Institute is an eight-story concrete building on the UMASS Medical School Jamaica Plain Campus. The Institute overlooks the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University and the Forest Hills MBTA station.

By Public Transportation

The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) services Boston and the surrounding communities. The Hinton State Laboratory Institute is within a 5 minute walk from the Forest Hills MBTA station. This station can be reached by the MBTA Orange Line, the Needham Commuter Rail, and multiple bus routes.

From the MBTA Orange Line Subway:

  • Take the Orange Line Subway to its southern end - Forest Hills. Turn right as you pass through the turnstiles. Exit through the door marked "Exit to Washington Street; Exit to buses".
  • Turn right and continue towards the taxi stand located on the corner of Washington Street and South Street. Cross the street and walk up the hill along South Street. The American Legion Post 76 will be on your left.
  • The UMASS Medical School, JP Campus will be on your right.

By Car

Visitor parking is scarce. Paid parking is available at the Parking Co LLC. The Parking Co. is located near the intersection of Washington Street and the Arborway at 3694 Washington Street.
