OSD offers the general public opportunities to bid for surplus property, this is done through both live and online public auctions. Information on these auctions can be found in the links below:

Most auctions are held on a Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Public viewing is the day prior from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the day of sale from 8:30 a.m. Auctions are scheduled several times throughout the spring, summer, and fall months. Auctions are not conducted during the winter.
Information is also available on the OSD Auction Hotline at 617-720-3199, as well as the Boston Globe classified section under Auctions on the Sunday and Thursday preceding the day of sale. All ads specify auction location, date, time, and a general offering list. Information can also be found at www.auctionsinternational.com
Overseen and managed by OSD, all public auctions of surplus property are conducted by a professional auctioneer licensed by the Commonwealth's Division of Standards.
- Offerings are sold "as-is, where-is."
- Payment must be made by cash, personal or business check
- Two means of identification are required of which one must be a valid driver's license.
- Full payment must be done at the auction' s conclusion.
