Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) Information for Nursing Facility Providers

There are 24 ASAPs across the Commonwealth, all contracted with the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, that provide programs and services designed specifically to support adults aged 60 and older, and their caregivers.

Clinical Eligibility Assessment for Long-Term-Care Services

ASAPs have been designated by MassHealth to provide Clinical Assessment and Eligibility (CAE) Screenings for Certain Long Term Care Services and Supports for MassHealth including but not limited to Nursing Facility Services for MassHealth members and applicants age 22 and older. Please send the nursing facility screening request and necessary clinical documentation to the ASAP serving the city or town in which your nursing facility is located. Requests must be reviewed and approved by the ASAP for MassHealth to pay for a MassHealth member’s nursing facility stay.

Clinical approval is a prerequisite for MassHealth payment. For assistance in locating the ASAP that serves your nursing facility, call 1-800-AGE-INFO. Learn more.

To find a map of ASAP geographical service areas and more information by town, go to Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) in Massachusetts.
