The Department of Career Services provides employment and training services to Veterans and their families. Dedicated staff is available throughout the state to help veterans transition to civilian employment. Veterans and their eligible spouses receive Priority of Service throughout the full array of services provided through the One-Stop Career Center System.
These are state employees located in the state's One-Stop Career Centers. Their job is to provide job search services to veterans.
Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program Specialists (DVOPS) develop job and training opportunities for veterans, with special emphasis on veterans with service-connected disabilities.
The HITG Program assists companies in paying for training of new employees that meet certain criteria. As a preference for veterans, the 6-month or longer unemployment requirement is waived for qualified veterans.
Veterans, Reservists and National Guard members who are employed as registered apprentices may be eligible to collect G.I. Bill payments in addition to their regular full-time wages.
