Veterans' Employment Representatives are state employees located in the state's One-Stop Career Centers. Their job is to provide job search services and develop job and training opportunities for veterans, with special emphasis on veterans with service-connected disabilities. Boots to Business Veteran Mentorship Program helps match you one on one with someone in your community who has often served; who might be able to provide that job search perspective, or make that contact allowing you to get your next job. Disabled Veterans' Outreach Program Specialists (DVOPS) develop job and training opportunities for veterans, with special emphasis on veterans with service-connected disabilities.
The HITG Program assists companies in paying for training of new employees that meet certain criteria. As a preference for veterans, the 6-month or longer unemployment requirement is waived for qualified veterans.
