OIG Expands Access to MCPPO Designations

To promote good government and best practices in public procurement, the Inspector General is encouraging every community in the Commonwealth to have at least one public employee with a current MCPPO designation. The One Free Designee pilot program is still available for any jurisdiction that has NOT yet enrolled an employee in the program and to those who are currently enrolled but have not yet completed the courses and continuing education credits to earn the MCPPO designation. All participants will need to complete all MCPPO designee requirements to earn the MCPPO designation by June 30, 2025.

OFD allows each municipality free tuition for the three classes required for one employee to receive the MCPPO designation. The three classes have a total value of $1,885. Upon completion of the three core classes, an employee can apply for the MCPPO designation.

Applicants must be authorized by their mayor, select board chair or town administrator/manager. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We will regretfully reject any applications that do not meet these requirements.
