Department of Conservation & Recreation - Refrigeration of Building No.2, State Pier

The project addresses the need to add refrigeration to Building No. 2 at the DCR State Pier in New Bedford.

The addition of refrigeration to this otherwise functional warehouse facility will greatly expand the season for delivery of clementines and potentially other fruit and vegetables.   As an improvement to promote economic development it is estimated that the current operations support up to 100 jobs during the current active season of October through March.  This project will extend that season to year round, providing additional job opportunities for citizens of New Bedford and the region.
