BSEA Decisions and Rulings

The BSEA conducts due process hearings and renders Rulings and Decisions concerning eligibility, evaluation, placement, individualized education programs (IEP), provision of special education and procedural protections for students with disabilities.

The Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA) was transferred to the Division of Administrative Law Appeals by Chapter 131 of the Acts of 2010. Previously, the Bureau was part of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For Decisions and Rulings prior to this transfer (6/30/12), all Decisions and Rulings are listed through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
