The Commission affirmed the suspension of fire alarm operator with the Boston Fire Department for one-tour after finding he was responsible for a lapse in judgement that caused a delay in responding to a fire emergency in a 12-story residential building in down-town Boston.
The Commission affirmed the discharge of a Chicopee Police Officer who engaged in domestic abuse and then attempted to visit the victim at her home even though she had told him not to. At the time of the visit, the Appellant was serving a 60-day suspension and his charges had been continued for a year.
Considering the Commission’s previous decision that altered the Department of Correction’s discipline of the Appellant, the Commission decided to refrain from elaborating how the relief it granted correlated to subsidiary matters addressed only in the relevant collective bargaining agreement.
