Overview of Dana Farber Cancer Institute public hearing
Notice is hereby given that the Massachusetts Department of Public Health will conduct a hearing to permit comment on an application for Determination of Need (“DoN”) filed on July 18, 2018 by Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Inc. (Applicant), 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215, for a substantial capital expenditure and the acquisition of DoN-required equipment of two magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) units, two computed tomography (CT) units and one positron emission tomography/CT (PE T /CT) unit. The proposed expenditure of $174,850,000 is for renovations and DoN-required equipment to house a new hospital satellite facility located at 300 Boylston Street, Newton, MA 02467.
The hearing will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, commencing at 6:00 P.M. in the Public Health Council room, second floor, at the Department of Public Health, at 250 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02108. Such hearing shall not be adjudicatory but shall be in the nature of a public forum for the presentation of any comments that may be relevant to consideration by the Department of the proposed project. Persons wishing to make their views known may appear at the hearing or may submit written comments to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Determination of Need Program, 250 Washington Street, 6th floor, Boston, MA 02108. Written comments will be accepted up until 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 4, 2018.
