LevelUP to Equality Webinar: Apprenticeship as a Pathway to Employment

Each Massachusetts Office on Disability LevelUP to Equality webinar focuses on specific topics related to disability rights and barrier removal under the umbrella of Federal and State civil rights obligations. These quarterly webinars are relevant for individuals and organizations who are focused on rights and access for people with disabilities. We expect this quarter's webinar to be most valuable to people with disabilities looking for ways into employment, and potential employers.

The topic for this LevelUP webinar is Apprenticeship as a Pathway to Employment. In celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, this one hour webinar over Zoom will highlight apprenticeships as a unique path to employment for individuals with disabilities. A speaker from the Division of Apprentice Standards will explore the Commonwealth’s registered apprenticeship programs in Expansion Industries (such as healthcare and technology) and encourage employers to sponsor apprenticeships as a way to train and hire talent. Most importantly, you will hear the experience of an individual with a disability who took a nontraditional road to employment.
