Join us for our hour-long “Equity in Transportation” webinar on January 29, 2020, at 12:00 PM. We will build the case for equity by exploring outreach options to populations that need support based on national and statewide statistics. Topics discussed will center on policy changes and road safety issues for pedestrians and cyclists, specifically:
- Equity and incentives: Rebalancing through providing incentives to disadvantaged communities to improve school access and quality of life
- Access issues: Travel with safety and dignity (e.g. investment in bus shelters, lighting, snow clearing of sidewalks/bike lanes) and dealing with mode conflicts
- New devices (scooters, hoverboards, e-bikes, etc.): Variety of mobility devices have raised the concern of transportation equity
- Complete Streets approach: Ensuring all modes have a balance of access and amenities
- Tactical urbanism: Using creative strategies to test concepts
