The Massachusetts Center for Employee Ownership (MassCEO) is pleased to announce the first in a series of webinars to support employee ownership in the Commonwealth, “The ABC’s of Employee Ownership,” presented by Steve Storkan, the Executive Director of the Employee Ownership Expansion Network (EOX).

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, November 19, beginning at 10AM.

In this introductory-level webinar, Steve will share some of the benefits of employee ownership and will provide an overview of three popular employee-ownership models that businesses may consider: Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), Worker Cooperatives (Co-ops), and Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs).

After Steve’s presentation, MassCEO Interim Director Kevin Kuros will facilitate a question & answer session where attendees can leverage Steve’s greater than 25 years’ experience with employee ownership.

Steve Storkan bio:

Steve Storkan is the Executive Director of the Employee Ownership Expansion Network (EOX) — the nation's only nonprofit focused on building awareness and engaging local communities around all forms of employee ownership at the state and national levels via a network of State Centers for Employee Ownership. Steve has been involved with employee stock ownership plans for over 25 years, most recently as the Director of ESOP Administration for Alerus Retirement and Benefits where he worked closely with businesses in the creation of an ESOP and the technical administration and compliance required in subsequent years. Steve spent 11 years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota-Dakotas Chapter of the ESOP Association where he also served as Chapter President and VP of Government Relations. Steve holds a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation from the University of Minnesota State Mankato.
