Who can request access

You can request a Figma seat if you:

  • Work for a Massachusetts state agency or vendor partner building digital products or services for constituents
  • Agree to follow accessibility, and style guidelines as part of the state’s digital standards

If you’re not sure whether you meet these requirements you can still complete the form. We’ll review your request and help you find the right setup for your team.

Before you start

Here’s what to know before submitting:

Seat costs are billed to state agencies
The Commonwealth uses a chargeback model, which means Figma Enterprise seat costs must be covered by a partnering state agency. Vendors cannot request seats independently, they must coordinate with the agency they are contracted with to confirm funding.

Seat types and lead contacts
Figma offers both Full and Dev Mode seats. Each participating agency or vendor team must designate one lead contact for each seat type requested. This person will be required to attend an onboarding session with the Design System team.

Access and prioritization
Access is prioritized for users who are actively designing, prototyping, or reviewing work in shared team files. Vendor users must be directly supporting an active state project.

Shared libraries and permissions
Once approved, you’ll be added to the state-managed workspace, where you can use shared components, templates, tokens, and system libraries.

Centralized subscription management
Mass Digital manages the overall Figma Enterprise subscription, licensing, and administration. Partner agencies are responsible for the chargeback costs associated with vendor seats.
