Housing Stabilization Training Resources

Transitioning an individual or family from the streets, shelter or an institution is the first step in assisting vulnerable populations to live independently in the community.

Among the next critical steps is providing homelessness prevention services as well as housing stabilization or retention services that can assist tenants to learn the skills to maintain and retain their housing and to continue to support them as needed. Housing stabilization services are specific to assisting a tenant in housing–related activities such as learning to maintain their apartment or pay rent; these supports are in addition to any needed individual services such as medical, behavioral health or other supports.
