What you need for Assisted Living Fees
Effective November 1, 2024 the Executive Office of Elder Affairs is offering an electronic payment service option to pay fees associated with the certification process of an Assisted Living Residence in MA.
Fees for Assisted Living Fees
Fees associated with the certification of an Assisted Living Residence (ALR) are set in accordance with 801 CMR 4.02.
Fee Type | Fee Amount | Payable |
---|---|---|
Application for certification | $200.00 per submitted application | Payable at the time of application submission. |
Certificate to Operate | $125.00 per certified unit, payable every two-years | Payable within ten (10) days after receiving notification of an approval from EOEA to operate as a certified ALR. |

- The e-Payment service is supported by a third-party payment facilitator that charges a convenience fee to cover costs of payment page hosting services and processing.
- Convenience fees are based on payment method and amount and are displayed after selecting the payment method.
- No part of the convenience fee is paid to EOEA.
- The convenience fee is not negotiable or refundable.
- No cardholder or banking data is transferred to EOEA.
- EOEA will post the e-Payment in our system based on the ALR NAME entered.
- After e-Payment is submitted you will receive a confirmation email.
- The e-Payment to EOEA will appear as *MA ELD ALR* on your credit card or bank statement.
