What you need
As part of your business registration, please download either the Certificate by Regulatory Board request form, Professional Corporation or the Certificate by Regulatory Board request form, LLC, located under Downloads below.
Please fill out the form, listing only Massachusetts-licensed architects and their license numbers. There is a $15 verification fee for each person you include on the form. Do not sign the form.
Upon receipt of the form, the Board will verify whether the Massachusetts-issued license(s) is current, at which time we will sign the form, put the Board's seal on it, and return it to the *MAILING* address you provide. If you have questions about the Certificate by Regulatory Board, please contact Board staff at 617-701-8690 or architectboard@mass.gov.

Fees
As part of the online process, you may also submit the $15 payment electronically for each Massachusetts-licensed professional listed on the form. Please note that there is a convenience fee for all online credit card transactions. There is no fee for online payment by check.
How to request
- Applications, renewals, and reinstatements must be submitted online through the eLIPSE portal.
- You will be asked to submit all required documents via the eLIPSE platform, including a DOL CORI form. Once submitted, you will be notified of any required next steps.
- Payment will also be made via the eLIPSE platform.

Incomplete applications will be held open for 180 days from the date of application receipt to allow applicants to provide the missing information or documentation. After 180 days, the incomplete application will be considered abandoned, and applicants will need to submit a new application and payment.

In Massachusetts, businesses providing architectural services must be registered through the Secretary of State's office. You may reach them online or at 617-727-9640.
Foreign Corporations must file one of the forms found on the Secretary of the Commonwealth's website.
