What you need for Request a "State Acknowledgement Letter" from MassDEP
EPA's Proposal Guidelines for Brownfields Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, and Cleanup Grants require applicants to provide a letter from the appropriate state environmental authority (in Massachusetts, MassDEP) acknowledging the application.
For MassDEP to provide such a letter we request an email and/or letter from each applicant containing the following information:
- Name of Grant Applicant;
(city, town, non-profit)
- Mailing address of Applicant;
- Contact Person for Applicant (to whom letter will be addressed);
- To what email address the letter should be sent to including CC's;
- Type of grant funding being requested;
(Multipurpose, Assessment, Revolving Loan Fund, Cleanup) - Funding amount;
- Target Site Address;
- MassDEP Release Tracking Number (if applicable);
- Brief description of project, including redevelopment information;
- If a Cleanup Grant, please affirm that there is a sufficient level of site characterization from the environmental site assessment performed to date for the remediation work to begin on the site.
