The fiscal year 2015 (FY15) budget is an estimate of income and spending for the period of July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015. This budget is also known as the General Appropriations Act (GAA) or "Chapter 165 of the Acts of 2014."

This budget is a balanced, responsible budget that supports the administration's growth strategy of investing in education, innovation, and infrastructure to create jobs and opportunity in the near term and strengthen our Commonwealth in the long term.

The online budget application allows you to view a summary of dollars allocated by government area, historical budget information, and a list of vetoes.  You are also able to download budget information in spreadsheet format.

Key dates in the FY15 budget process:

  • January 22, 2014 - The Governor files his budget recommendation for Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15). The bill, known as House 2, goes to the House of Representatives for review.  
  • May 1, 2014 - The House of Representatives approves a final, amended version of the bill which is sent to the Senate for consideration
  • May 30, 2014 - The Senate approves a final, amended version of the bill which is sent to a Conference Committee for review
  • June 29, 2014 - The Conference Committee reports a final compromise bill to the House and Senate for a final vote of acceptance in each branch
  • July 11, 2014 - The Governor issues his reductions and denials (vetoes) of the Conference Committee's bill.  The FY15 Budget is signed.
  • November 19, 2014 - Secretary of Administration and Finance notifies the Governor and house and senate committees on ways and means that there is a revenue shortfall
  • November 19, 2014 - Governor invokes 9C authority
  • February 3, 2015 - Secretary of Administration and Finance notifies the Governor and house and senate committees on ways and means that there is a revenue shortfall
  • February 3, 2015 - Governor invokes 9C authority
  • July 17, 2015 -  Secretary of Administration and Finance notifies the Governor and house and senate committees on ways and means that there is a revenue shortfall
  • November 2, 2015 - The Governor requests a supplemental budget
  • January 8, 2016 - Governor invokes 9C authority
  • July 8, 2016 - The Governor requests a supplemental budget
