APHVC Internal Operations Manager

Overview

The APHVC Internal Operations Manager enables the recruitment, selection, and placement of volunteers and team leads; oversees onboarding and off-boarding processes; provides leadership and support to the APHVC; and develops and manages efficient operational systems. They interface with the AHD and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) in service of the APHVC mission.

Responsibilities

  • Volunteer and Team Lead Placement
    • Recruit, screen, and pair volunteers and team leads to LBOHs and Central teams
    • Maintain the database of volunteers and team leads
    • Facilitate and track volunteer and team lead onboarding/offboarding
    • Design and distribute new volunteer recruitment surveys as needed
    • Allocate projects to field or Central teams
  • Internal Communication
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process improvements for existing APHVC systems
    • Maintain Team Lead Listserv
    • Survey Team Leads for project updates/availability
    • Collect deliverables from team leads for shared drive
  • Leadership and Engagement:
    • Plan and facilitate team lead orientation
    • Communicate relevant updates and announcements with entire volunteer pool
  • Interfacing with the AHD and MDPH
    • Report concerns, events, successes and questions raised within the APHVC to the AHD
    • Work with MDPH Coordinator of Quality Improvement and Academic Partnerships to ensure develop and implement operational best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Availability 15-20 hours per week

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • A team player, excited to support local public health in Massachusetts
