FIFTH MEMBER POSITION AVAILABLE FOR RETIREMENT BOARD
The Essex Regional Retirement Board is seeking a Fifth Member. In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 34B, Section 19A, the Fifth Member shall not be an employee, retiree or official of the Essex Regional Retirement System or of any of its constituent governmental units. The Fifth Member is chosen by the other four members of the Board.
The Essex Regional Retirement System (ERRS) is governed by a five-member Board which is charged with the pension administration of its 6,750 active and retired public employee members. The Board members are fiduciaries who are responsible for the investment and oversight of approximately $800 million in assets.
The Board members meet monthly in their Danvers office. Typically, the regular meetings are held on the last Monday of each month and begin at 8:30 a.m. Occasionally, additional meetings are required. The Board members receive an annual stipend of $4,500. Day-to-day administration of ERRS is managed by the Executive Director and the system employs seven full-time employees.
This appointment is for a full five-year term, which begins on December 13, 2025 and ends December 12, 2030. Interested candidates should be aware that, if you are appointed to the Board, you will be required to annually submit certain financial disclosures and to complete an education program during the course of the term.
