Overview

Going beyond legal requirements, this workshop explores best practices to encourage meaningful public engagement in the development and implementation of public budgets.  Public input improves transparency, builds trust in the budgetary process, and helps in the development of a budget that is most reflective of public needs. Participants will strategize how to enhance public involvement in the municipal budget process.

Taught by Charles I. DiStefano, PhD, MPA, MPA Program Director & Assistant Professor, Political Science at Westfield State University.
