Christine Hezzey, B.S., M.A., M.A.T., Ed.D., MCPPO
Instructor
Christine joined the Office of the Inspector General in 2021. Prior to joining the office, she worked as an Instructional Technologist in higher education providing training and support in utilization of Blackboard and other technologies. Christine has taught as an adjunct for many years in various colleges and universities including North Shore Community College, Salem State University and Quinnipiac University in Connecticut. Her career began as a Medical Technologist which led to the role of developing and defending to the Connecticut State Board of Higher Education a Medical Technology Program for the University of New Haven.
Christine received her BS in Medical Technology and an MAT in Education from Quinnipiac University, an MS in Instructional Technology from Southern Connecticut State University, and an EdD from Nova Southeastern University.

Marybeth Fleming, B.S., M.Ed., Ed.S.
Instructor
With a distinguished career spanning over 21 years in the Massachusetts public school system, Marybeth is a seasoned educational leader whose expertise bridges academic excellence with holistic student development. Her diverse background in both classroom instruction and extracurricular leadership makes her an invaluable asset to the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Academy.
Her academic journey is a testament to her commitment to growth and excellence. Marybeth holds an B.S. from UMass Lowell, equipping her with strong organizational and strategic planning skills. Building on this foundation, she pursued a M.Ed., from Salem State University followed by an Ed.S. degree from UMass Lowell, further enhancing her expertise in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and educational leadership. This unique blend of business and educational experience has shaped her into a dynamic and visionary educator.
Beyond her formal educational roles, Marybeth has demonstrated her leadership in coaching high school volleyball, instilling values of teamwork, resilience, and perseverance in her student-athletes. Her role as both an educator and coach reflect her commitment to nurturing not only academic success but also personal growth and well-being.

Erik Millman, B.S.
Instructor
Erik joined the Office of the Inspector General in 2024. Prior to joining, he spent the previous 15 years serving in the hospitality and healthcare industries in Florida. There, he led small to medium sized teams that provided onboarding, training, leadership development, compliance, and employee engagement services to as many as 30,000 team members. Erik holds a BS in Hotel, Restaurant & Institution Management from Iowa State University, and a Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma. Erik is also a Certified Practitioner for Everything DiSC, and a certified facilitator for FranklinCovey.

Susan Scheiner, B.A., J.D.
Instructor
Susan joined the Office of the Inspector General in 2023. She earned her J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law then worked as a staff attorney at the Massachusetts Appeals Court. After leaving the court, she represented clients in criminal and immigration proceedings. Early in her career she taught building management and finance to tenant managers in New York City, and more recently, led classes in U.S. civics and high school biology for adult learners. In addition to her legal and teaching work, Susan has over a decade of program experience in state and local governments in New York and Massachusetts.
