What is the status of the Springfield Justice Center project?

DCAMM on behalf of the Massachusetts Trial Court originally issued a RFP on November 15, 2023 to solicit sale and gift offers from owners of parcels no less than two (2) acres and no more than five (5) developable acres in the City of Springfield. On January 17, 2024, DCAMM issued the First Addendum to the RFP and Amended RFP extending the Questions Submission Deadline to March 1, 2024 by 2:00 PM and the Proposal Submission Deadline to March 29, 2024 by 2:00 PM. Question Number 2
Is there a civil engineer involved in the design of this project?
Answer Number 2
The selected Designer is anticipated to be comprised of a team of architects and consultants including a civil engineer.
Question Number 3
Provide information on the construction of the courthouse in Springfield.
Answer Number 3
Once DCAMM acquires a property pursuant to the current competitive site acquisition RFP process, DCAMM anticipates a separate, future construction contractor procurement process pursuant to M.G.L. c. 149A.

What was the reason or cause for the extension and re-issuance of the RFP?
Answer Number 4
On January 17, 2024, DCAMM issued the First Addendum to the RFP and Amended RFP extending the Questions Submission Deadline to March 1, 2024 by 2:00 PM and the Proposal Submission Deadline to March 29, 2024 by 2:00 PM. The reason for the extension to submit questions and the Proposals was to adjust the site acquisition timeline to align with the timeline for the selection of the Designer by the Designer Selection Board.
