BostonAttorney General Maura Healey announced today a new $130,000 grant program to support investments in job training, skill development, and career placement programs for individuals with disabilities.

“Massachusetts is part of a national movement to improve employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and provide inclusive workplaces for every resident,” said AG Healey. “This grant will provide funding to strengthen programs that help individuals with disabilities achieve their professional goals.”

The Enabling Employment Opportunities grant program will fund several grants to nonprofit and charitable service provider organizations that provide educational opportunities to individuals with developmental and other disabilities. Successful applicants will use grant funds to help individuals with disabilities secure a job, participate in workforce development programs, and secure credentialed job training.

This grant will be funded by the proceeds from a 2018 settlement with Triangle Inc., a nonprofit organization in Malden that provides support services for individuals with disabilities to assist with employment, housing, and independence. The AG’s Office settlement with Triangle resolved allegations that the organization violated state wage and hour laws.

Grants will be awarded for up to two years with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2020. Applications to this grant program must be received by 5 p.m. on February 21, 2020. For more information, please visit: www.mass.gov/ago/grants.
