Broadside and Letter Regarding the Shipment of Tea

Boston: December 1, 1773

December 16 marks the 252nd anniversary of the Boston Tea Party! This broadside and letter were distributed on December 1, 1773 by Boston’s Committee of Correspondence. Publication of the documents followed a three-day meeting where citizens of Boston and nearby towns gathered first at Faneuil Hall and then Old South Meeting House to discuss what to do with the shipment of tea that arrived in Boston Harbor the previous month.

Read more about these two documents in our recent blog post and visit us from December 2 through January 6 to see them on display.
