Did you know GIC health plans cover a number of medically necessary gender-affirming treatments for members with gender dysphoria, including Gender-Affirming Surgery (GAS)? GAS includes, but is not limited to, gender-affirming chest, genital, and facial surgery.
In addition to covering other related benefits and services, including behavioral health, hormone treatments, and speech therapy, the GIC has also made improvements to the new plan year beginning July 1, 2023, expanding fertility benefits to same-sex couples.
