Almanacs mark holidays throughout the year, and while the late 18th and early 19th century volumes in our collection don't mention All Hallows Eve or Halloween, that doesn't mean that their content doesn't veer a little creepy sometimes! This month, our Collection Spotlight case highlights the 1793, 1807, and 1816 editions of The Farmer’s Almanac, which include entries with home remedies that read a little like potions or spells, instructions on how to bring people back to life after an accident, and an October illustration and verse that gives off spooky vibes!

Read more about these almanacs in our blog and visit us from October 7 through November 4 to see these materials on display – if you dare!
