Internal Special Audit Unit: 2020 Annual Report

The Office’s Internal Special Audit Unit (ISAU) issued its Annual Report for 2020. The report includes information on reviews and activities related to transportation spending and operations, including the ISAU's:

  • Continuing review of the Merit Rating Board and recommendations for operational improvements
  • Investigation into whether a MassDOT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise owner qualified as economically disadvantaged
  • Recommendations to the town of Eastham after reviewing an overpayment on a Chapter 90 project
  • Trainings for MassDOT and MBTA staff on how to prevent fraud
  • Handling of over 200 hotline complaints from the public and employees
