BostonThe State Treasurer’s Office of Economic Empowerment (OEE) released their Findings Report on the 2021 EqualPayMA Roundtables at a virtual roundtable discussion featuring State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg and other panelists last Thursday. The Findings Report addresses the need for a shift in how employees are treated by offering a detailed list of actions that the legislature and the private sector can take to create a just working environment.

Throughout the event, panelists highlighted how the pandemic affected women and people of color in Massachusetts, and how it shed light on the jobs and people that our economy relies on most. These discussions led to calls for legislation and workplace policy changes that would increase pay transparency, offer flexibility for workers, and more.

The March 24th panel included leading women fighting for equal pay:

We focused on the important role that employers have, and how they can support all people within their organizations,” said State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg. “The findings provide us with the framework needed to develop programs that will help us achieve a great deal more."

The Findings Report is published on OEE’s website, and the event recording is available on YouTube. Throughout 2022, OEE will host several free virtual salary negotiation workshops with the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
