A pair of Black-capped Chickadees from Audubon Plate 353

In honor of the country’s 250th birthday, we’ll be sharing the state birds from some of the thirteen original colonies in our Audubon case in 2026. We’re kicking things off with the Black-capped Chickadee, the Massachusetts State Bird. It is shown in plate 353, along with the Chestnut-backed Titmouse and the Chestnut-crowned Titmouse. Visit the library through February 10 to see this print on display, and read more in our blog.
