Who we serve
Instituted in 1945, the Somerville Retirement System is an (IRS Section) 401A Contributory Defined Benefit Plan covering all member employees deemed eligible by the Retirement Board. Membership in the plan is mandatory immediately upon the commencement of employment for all permanent, full-time employees of the city of Somerville.
There is a five-member board which meets monthly:
Ex Officio Member: Edward Bean Jr. (Chairperson)
Elected Member: John M. Memory
Elected Member: Thomas Ross
Appointed Member: Michael Mastrobuoni
Fifth Member: David Castellarin
