Cas Martin

Lead Trainer (Western MA)

Cas Ford Martin (he/they) is a Western MA-based trans and queer activist working to create a kinder world for LGBTQ+ youth. Cas has served schools and community-based organizations throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic for nearly a decade as an educator, administrator, and advocate.
In 2020, Cas founded the Paula Ford-Martin Memorial Fund (PFMMF), a nonprofit that supports LGBTQ+ youth activists through annual scholarship awards and fiscal sponsorship for student advocacy initiatives. Cas is proud to support queer and trans young people in building their own organizations, including Queer Youth Assemble and NO QUIET (No Ownership: Queers Using Interpersonal Experience to Teach).
Cas recently earned his Master’s degree in Public Policy & Administration from UMass Amherst. His capstone research, “LGBTQ+ Inclusive Education Policy: Evaluating Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity in Massachusetts PK-12 Public Schools,” was published in the FY2022-2023 recommendations of the MA Commission on LGBTQ Youth at the end of his yearlong Policy Fellowship with the Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ Students. Cas is thrilled to begin their new role as the Safe Schools Program’s Lead Trainer (Western MA), where he provides free training and technical assistance for schools and education-based organizations.
