David A Carlson, AIA
David is a Registered Architect with 35 years of experience in the public sector, primarily at the Boston Redevelopment Authority (now BPDA). He is owner and Director at Atelier Carlson LLC, a small urban planning consulting firm and has experience in planning and the Boston design and development review processes as well as stained glass restoration. He was Deputy Director for Urban Design at the BPDA, and Executive Director of the Boston Civic Design Commission for 21 years. David has been recognized with the Henry L. Shattuck Public Service Award (2015) and the BSA’s 2020 Commonwealth Award. A licensed architect, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Visual and Environmental Studies and a Master of Architecture, both from Harvard University.
