Noemi Uribe

Noemi Uribe (they/them) is a queer non-binary Latine organizer advocating for the human rights of undocumented people and LGBTQ+ people to not just survive, but thrive. After experiencing religious trauma due to their sexual orientation and gender identity in various Christian denominations, they are now speaking out to warn others of the dangers of church ambiguity on LGBTQ+ policies and performative support of people of color. They currently work at the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee as the Senior Programs Department Coordinator, where they support the organization's international human rights work as an interfaith and gender justice content expert. Noemi received their Bachelor of Science from Northern Arizona University in Public Health, with a minor in comparative religion, and their Master of Public Health degree from Boston University School of Public Health, where they focused on Human Rights & Social Justice. They are currently pursuing their Master's in Divinity at Boston University School of Theology focusing on Latin American indigenous spiritualities and LGBTQ+ religious trauma healing. In their free time, Noemi loves to go on walks with their service dog Teddy, do puzzles, and watch documentaries.
