These regulations govern discharges to groundwater in order to protect the potential use of groundwater as a drinking water source, as well as protecting surface waters under the Massachusetts Surface Water Quality Standards (314 CMR 4.00).

These regulations, 314 CMR 5.00, became effective December 2, 2016.
